Our programmes

Screening tells you where you stand. These are the programmes that act on what it finds. Each one is physician-led, built on measurement rather than assumption, and reviewed against your own results over time rather than a fixed template.

Delivered by the clinical team at AOKLINIK Penang, a licensed medical clinic. Suitability is determined at consultation. This page is informational and is not a recommendation for any individual.

Metabolic and weight

Metabolic optimisation

A physician-led programme for the metabolic problems that sit upstream of most chronic disease: insulin resistance, raised blood glucose, raised blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol. It begins with detailed measurement, including fasting insulin, advanced lipid markers and continuous glucose monitoring, so the plan answers to your physiology rather than a population average. Care is shared between doctor and dietitian, combining structured nutrition, movement and, where clinically appropriate, prescription therapy. The aim is durable improvement in the markers that matter, tracked against your own baseline.

Often chosen for fatigue, low energy, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, insulin resistance, impaired glucose regulation, high blood sugar

Enquire about metabolic optimisation

Medical weight management

A physician-led programme for people whose weight is affecting their health, built on measurement rather than restriction. Assessment covers fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, thyroid function, lipids, liver health and direct body composition, so the plan addresses what is actually driving weight rather than repeating what has already failed. A doctor and dietitian work together, resistance training and protein adequacy are built in to protect muscle, and progress is judged by body composition rather than the scale.

Visceral fat reduction

Targeted reduction of the deep abdominal fat surrounding the organs, which tracks metabolic and cardiovascular risk far more closely than body weight does. The programme opens with direct measurement through body composition analysis rather than the scale, then combines dietitian-led nutrition with resistance and aerobic training, sleep and stress work. Repeat scanning shows change in the compartment that actually matters. Many people find visceral fat falls while total weight moves comparatively little, which is precisely why measurement rather than weighing guides the plan from start to finish.

Often chosen for weight gain, belly fat or visceral fat

Enquire about visceral fat reduction

Fatty liver management

Structured care for fatty liver disease, a common and usually silent condition closely tied to insulin resistance and visceral fat. Assessment combines liver function testing with imaging that estimates liver fat and stiffness, establishing a baseline rather than an assumption. Management is led by nutrition and physical activity, with metabolic markers addressed in parallel, since the liver responds to the same levers as the rest of the system. Repeat measurement confirms whether liver fat is genuinely reducing, which matters because early fatty liver is often substantially improvable.

Liver health

An evidence-based approach to liver health, concerned with how well the liver is functioning rather than with cleanses or purges. The liver detoxifies continuously without assistance, so the useful question is whether it is under strain from fat accumulation, alcohol, medication or metabolic dysfunction. Assessment covers liver enzymes, fat content and, where indicated, fibrosis. Support is then practical: reducing the load, correcting the nutrient deficiencies liver enzymes depend on, and addressing insulin resistance. We do not sell products that claim to flush toxins from the body.

Individualised incretin therapy

For patients with demonstrated visceral adiposity, insulin resistance or impaired appetite regulation, where the objective is body recomposition rather than maximal weight loss. Drug exposure varies with body weight, so dosing is titrated to the lowest dose producing the intended clinical response rather than defaulting to the trial maximum. Prescribed only where assessment establishes an indication, with protein and resistance training built in from the start and lean mass tracked as an explicit endpoint.

Hormonal life stages

Postmenopausal health

Comprehensive care for the years around and after menopause, when changing oestrogen affects bone density, cardiovascular risk, body composition, sleep, mood, skin and urogenital comfort. Assessment covers hormonal status, bone health and metabolic markers, so decisions rest on measurement rather than assumption. Management may include hormone therapy where it is clinically appropriate and wanted, alongside nutrition, resistance training and sleep work. The emphasis is informed choice: evidence on hormone therapy has shifted considerably, and the right decision depends on your own history, timing and priorities.

Often chosen for hormonal imbalance, loss of sex drive, low libido in women, menopause symptoms, hot flushes, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse

Enquire about postmenopausal health

Andropause

Assessment and management of the gradual decline in testosterone and the changes that accompany it in men, affecting energy, motivation, mood, muscle mass, body composition and libido. These symptoms overlap heavily with sleep debt, stress load, insulin resistance and thyroid dysfunction, so the programme measures rather than assumes, testing testosterone alongside metabolic and thyroid markers. Where treatment is appropriate it is physician-supervised and monitored over time. Where the real driver turns out to be sleep, metabolic health or stress, addressing that directly is often more effective than hormonal treatment.

Often chosen for hormonal imbalance, low testosterone, loss of sex drive, erectile dysfunction

Sleep and recovery

Sleep optimisation

For people who sleep enough hours but not well. The programme treats sleep as a set of controllable inputs rather than a nightly accident, working on timing regularity, light exposure, core body temperature, and the timing of caffeine and alcohol. Objective measurement through wearable data or formal sleep analysis establishes what is actually happening rather than relying on recall. Where disrupted breathing during sleep is suspected it is assessed rather than assumed, given its cardiovascular and metabolic consequences. Regularity is emphasised, since it predicts long-term outcomes more strongly than duration.

Often chosen for poor sleep, daytime sleepiness, snoring or sleep apnoea

Enquire about sleep optimisation

Insomnia treatment

Structured care for persistent difficulty falling or staying asleep. Assessment first distinguishes insomnia from other causes of poor sleep, including disrupted breathing, circadian misalignment, chronic pain, and thyroid or hormonal contributors, since the treatment differs entirely depending on which is driving it. First-line treatment is cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia, which outperforms medication for long-term outcomes and carries no dependence risk. Sleep tracking is used carefully, because anxious over-monitoring of sleep scores can itself worsen sleep. Where medication is genuinely warranted it is used deliberately and reviewed, rather than continued indefinitely by default.

Enquire about insomnia treatment

Recovery optimisation

For people training hard, travelling frequently or carrying sustained workload who are no longer bouncing back as they should. Assessment covers heart rate variability trends, sleep quality, inflammatory markers, iron and vitamin D status and body composition, to separate genuine under-recovery from under-fuelling or simple overtraining, which look similar from the outside but call for opposite responses. Management adjusts training load and its distribution, nutrition timing and protein adequacy, and sleep. Clinic recovery therapies are used where they support the process rather than substitute for it. Success is measured as capacity restored, not sessions completed.

Often chosen for poor recovery after exercise, burnout, loss of fitness

Mind and stress

Cognitive health

A programme for brain fog, memory concerns and long-term cognitive resilience. It starts with a cognitive baseline, so subtle change can be tracked rather than guessed at, alongside assessment of the physical contributors that commonly affect thinking: sleep quality, blood glucose stability, thyroid function, vitamin B12 and vitamin D status, and chronic inflammation. Management addresses whichever prove relevant, combined with cardiovascular risk reduction, physical activity and sleep. Vascular and metabolic health are among the strongest modifiable influences on long-term brain health, so that is where the work concentrates.

Often chosen for brain fog, poor memory or forgetfulness, cognitive decline

Enquire about cognitive health

Stress management

Physiological rather than motivational support for chronic stress and burnout. The programme assesses the daily cortisol pattern, heart rate variability trends and the downstream effects of sustained stress on sleep, blood glucose and body composition. Intervention combines autonomic regulation techniques that work within a minute, appropriately dosed exercise, protected sleep and nutritional support where relevant. Structural change is discussed honestly too, since predictable recovery and genuine autonomy often matter more than technique. Where stress has tipped into anxiety or depression, we recommend proper mental health care alongside this.

Often chosen for chronic stress or feeling overstretched, burnout, irritability, mood swings, anxiety, depression, frequent headaches

Strength, bone and pain

Muscle mass growth

A programme addressing sarcopenia, the progressive loss of muscle mass and strength that begins from the fourth decade and accelerates with inactivity or illness. Muscle is your largest site of glucose disposal and your reserve during illness, so building and protecting it is a metabolic intervention as much as a physical one. Assessment pairs body composition analysis with strength measurement, giving a baseline rather than an impression. Management combines progressive resistance training with dietitian-led protein planning, and addresses hormonal or nutritional factors that are limiting the response.

Often chosen for loss of fitness, muscle loss (sarcopenia), difficulty building muscle

Enquire about muscle mass growth

Frailty prevention

Preventive care for the loss of physical reserve that determines independence in later decades. Assessment covers muscle mass and strength, gait and balance, bone density, nutritional adequacy and cognitive baseline, because frailty develops across several systems at once rather than in one. Intervention concentrates on progressive resistance training, adequate protein, vitamin D and correction of deficiencies, and balance work to reduce fall risk. Starting early matters more than most people expect: reserve built in your fifties and sixties is what protects independence in your eighties.

Often chosen for muscle loss (sarcopenia)

Enquire about frailty prevention

Osteoporosis prevention

Assessment and protection of bone density, particularly relevant after menopause, with a family history, or where long-term medication affects bone. Density is measured directly by scanning to give a baseline rather than an estimate, alongside vitamin D, calcium adequacy and hormonal status. Management combines weight-bearing and resistance loading, which is the stimulus bone actually responds to, with nutritional correction and medical therapy where clinically indicated. Bone loss is silent until fracture, which is the entire reason for measuring before symptoms rather than after, since a first fracture often marks the point where independence begins to narrow.

Often chosen for osteoporosis risk

Enquire about osteoporosis prevention

Pain management

Assessment and management of persistent aches, joint pain and musculoskeletal discomfort, directed at the contributors rather than the sensation alone. Evaluation considers movement quality and posture, muscle mass and loading patterns, body composition, inflammatory markers and nutrient status such as vitamin D. Management may combine structured exercise prescription, dietitian-led anti-inflammatory nutrition and clinic therapies where appropriate. Pain that is new, severe or worsening is investigated properly rather than managed symptomatically, because the first priority is identifying anything that needs specific medical attention rather than assuming the cause is wear and tear.

Gut and nutrition

Gut microbiome programme

Assessment and support of gut health, which influences digestion, immune regulation, inflammation, mood and how well nutrients are absorbed. A home stool sample maps the composition of your gut bacteria, and testing can distinguish food intolerance from allergy where symptoms point that way. Management is dietitian-led and food-first, concentrating on fibre diversity, fermented foods and eating patterns, with targeted supplementation only where it is justified. Persistent symptoms such as reflux, bloating or altered bowel habit are assessed properly rather than managed indefinitely with over-the-counter relief.

Often chosen for bloating, constipation, acid reflux (gerd), poor gut health, food intolerance, chronic inflammation, allergy

Micronutrient optimisation

Correction of the vitamin and mineral deficiencies that quietly affect energy, sleep, mood, immunity and muscle function. The programme measures rather than guesses, covering vitamin D, B12, folate, iron studies, red cell magnesium and omega-3 index, since intracellular and functional markers often tell a different story from standard serum testing. Where genetic testing has been done, it can inform how your body handles particular nutrients. Repletion is then targeted and monitored, with retesting to confirm levels have genuinely corrected rather than assuming they have, since absorption varies considerably between individuals.

Often chosen for fatigue, low energy, hair loss, dry skin, frequent illness, low immunity, vitamin d deficiency symptoms

Enquire about micronutrient optimisation

Personalised supplement protocol

Supplement planning built on your measured results rather than general recommendation. Most people take supplements they do not need and miss the ones they do, which is expensive and occasionally counterproductive, since some nutrients interact or become harmful in excess. The programme uses your laboratory results, dietary assessment and, where available, genetic data to build a focused protocol using pharmaceutical-grade formulations. Dosing is specified, interactions with prescribed medication are checked, and levels are retested so the plan can be scaled back once repletion is achieved.

Enquire about personalised supplement protocol

Iron therapy

Assessment and correction of iron deficiency, a common and frequently missed cause of fatigue, poor exercise tolerance, hair loss and reduced concentration, particularly in menstruating women and endurance athletes. Full iron studies including ferritin are measured, because haemoglobin alone can look normal while stores are depleted. Treatment is matched to severity and tolerance, using dietary strategy, oral supplementation, or intravenous iron where oral treatment is insufficient or poorly tolerated. Iron overload matters equally, since excess accelerates oxidative damage and is easily missed, so testing always precedes treatment in every case.

Often chosen for fatigue, hair loss

Restorative and performance

IV infusion therapy

Physician-formulated intravenous nutrient therapy delivered in clinic, used for hydration, nutrient repletion, immune and recovery support, and where oral absorption is limited. Formulations range from antioxidant blends through to more comprehensive protocols. Infusions are prescribed after assessment rather than chosen from a menu, because the useful ones address something that has been measured. Evidence quality varies across formulations and we are straightforward about that: intravenous therapy is valuable where there is a genuine deficit or absorption problem, and is not a substitute for addressing the underlying cause.

Often chosen for low immunity

Enquire about iv infusion therapy

Hangover recovery

A practical in-clinic service providing intravenous fluids, electrolytes and nutrients to shorten the discomfort that follows excess alcohol. It is offered without judgement and equally without pretence: this addresses symptoms, not consequences. Alcohol affects sleep architecture, liver health, blood pressure and long-term health risk regardless of how quickly the aftermath clears. Where patterns of use suggest it would be worth discussing, we are glad to do that as part of a broader assessment including liver health, and never as a condition of receiving care here.

Enquire about hangover recovery

Medical reset retreat

A structured, medically supervised reset combining assessment, nutrition, movement, sleep work and recovery therapies across a defined period. The word detox is used loosely across the wellness industry, so it is worth being precise: this is a supervised period of reducing metabolic load, correcting deficiencies and rebuilding habits, with measurement before and after. It is not a cleanse and makes no claim to purge toxins. What it offers is a concentrated period of change under clinical oversight, suited to people who find gradual adjustment hard to sustain.

Biohacking programme

For people who want to optimise actively rather than simply maintain, using measurement as the foundation. The programme combines continuous glucose monitoring, wearable data, body composition tracking and detailed laboratory work, including epigenetic and genetic testing where genuinely useful, building a picture that updates over time. Interventions are then tested against your own data rather than adopted because they are fashionable. We are candid about the evidence: some of this field is well supported, much is preliminary, and the largest reliable gains still come from sleep, training, nutrition and metabolic health.

Cardiovascular risk assessment

Advanced lipid and cardiovascular risk profiling

Standard cholesterol panels miss a great deal. This adds ApoB, lipoprotein(a) and high-sensitivity CRP to the conventional lipid profile, which together describe atherosclerotic risk more precisely than LDL alone. Suited to anyone with a family history of early cardiac events, raised cholesterol on a standard panel, or a metabolic picture that does not match how well they feel.

Enquire about advanced lipid and cardiovascular risk profiling

Blood pressure and vascular assessment

Structured assessment of blood pressure, including out-of-clinic readings where appropriate, alongside markers of vascular and renal involvement. Raised blood pressure is common, silent, and among the most modifiable contributors to long-term risk, which makes it worth measuring properly rather than opportunistically.

Enquire about blood pressure and vascular assessment

Inflammatory and metabolic risk markers

Chronic low-grade inflammation sits behind much of what shortens healthspan. This assesses hs-CRP alongside glycaemic and lipid markers to build a combined picture, and identifies which of the contributing factors are treatable in your case.

Genetic and epigenetic

Epigenetic age assessment

Laboratory measurement of DNA methylation patterns, reported as an estimated biological age alongside your chronological one. Worth understanding before you buy: these tests measure something real, but the individual result is less stable on repeat testing than the marketing suggests. We use it as one input among several rather than a headline number, and our article on epigenetic clocks sets out why.

Enquire about epigenetic age assessment

Genetic risk and pharmacogenomic review

Structured review of family history alongside genetic testing where it changes management, including how you metabolise commonly prescribed medicines. Most useful for people with a significant family history, or anyone who has responded poorly or unpredictably to standard treatment.

Enquire about genetic risk and pharmacogenomic review

Nutritional and lifestyle response profiling

Where genetic information usefully informs nutrition and training, we apply it. Where it does not, we say so. Much of the consumer market in this area promises more than the evidence supports, and the honest answer is that measured response usually beats predicted response.

Skin ageing and regenerative

Skin ageing, assessed from the inside

Skin change is a visible readout of things happening systemically: glycation, inflammation, hormonal shifts, nutritional status and sun exposure. This assesses those drivers rather than treating the surface alone, and is often the point where patients first take a metabolic problem seriously.

Enquire about skin ageing, assessed from the inside

Collagen, tissue repair and nutritional support

Protein intake, vitamin D, iron and zinc status all affect tissue repair, and deficiency is common and correctable. Assessment covers the nutritional and metabolic contributors to skin and connective tissue quality.

Regenerative and aesthetic integration

Where aesthetic treatment is appropriate, it is delivered alongside the internal assessment rather than separately from it. Led by our cosmetic dermatology team, with the metabolic and hormonal picture available to them rather than assumed.

Additional screening

Dental screening

Oral health assessment treated as part of a whole-body picture, since gum disease is associated with cardiovascular and metabolic markers and systemic inflammation rather than being confined to the mouth. Screening covers dental and periodontal health, identifying inflammation and disease that may be contributing to inflammatory markers found elsewhere in your results. Findings are read alongside your metabolic and inflammatory data, and onward dental care is coordinated where treatment is needed. It is an easily overlooked part of preventive health with a well-documented link to broader outcomes.
